Become a Volunteer!

If you are interested in history, the American Revolution, or the Colonial period, consider volunteering for Rockingham Historic Site. Volunteers are encouraged to choose an area of particular interest to them and are not required to give a designated amount of time.

Why does Rockingham need me?Rockingham Volunteers

Rockingham has a very small staff. The site relies on a strong volunteer base to maintain its programs and presence in the historic and local community.

What does a volunteer do?

Volunteer projects include:

  • Leading Tours
  • Program Special Event Development 
  • Research
  • Working on the Clothing Collection
  • Fundraising
  • Public Relations/Publicity
  • Cataloguing the Collection
  • Staffing the Museum Store
  • Staffing Events such as the Holiday Candlelight Tour and other programs
  • Period Crafts
  • Handiwork and Site Maintainence
  • Conservation
  • Donating suitable pieces of Fine Art and Rare Antiques for the Collection
